A jiyū shūkyō poetics
Poetry is placing trust in oneself.
Poetry begins as an act of faith into oneself. One can't will out words and images. One can only wait. There are no assurances that something will come out when one sits down to write or walk outdoors. One can only hope.
Another dimension of this faith in oneself is that one can believe in one's ability to get better in preparing one's body and mind and surroundings for the arrival of the poem.
My experience with poetry is that it often really arrives. I couldn't articulate clearly nor even fathom how it came into being. But it's arrival is the convergence of the universal cooperative community and the manifestation of "the great life of free and selfless creative evolution."
So a poetry practice could be a practice in faith that one called at any time be a vessel for the coming of image and words from that vast source (i.e., imagination) and that one could be better in coaxing this flow and helping it gain form.
Poetry is placing trust in others.
I do believe that poetry is an act of having faith in the other. When I use words, I'm using words handed down to me by ancestor others. I didn't invent these words. I didn't create a customized language for myself. Not everything could be customized! So I trust that these old tongues are able to capture the thought and emotions that flow in me. Faith in the other also arises from when the pool leaves me and goes into the world. I have faith that my kapwa will understand it. Maybe not all of them. But some. Or if not understand, then empathize or recognize the process of birthing this. Given this, I'm open to understanding now how poetry writing becomes and is intentionally made into a communal thing.
Poetry is placing trust in the cooperative community
The cooperative community is an ideal to move toward. One needs faith that one is able to move toward it. I want my poetry's content or at least how I could shape the flow of the poem later to move toward that faith or inspiration. I will also move it toward celebrating existing manifestations of the emergence of such a community, but also use the poem as a clarion call about acts that could be detrimental to the realization of this idea. Poetry could also be used to address the needs of the marginalized.
Poetry is placing trust in the trinity of self, other, and cooperative community
The Trinity of self other and cooperative community is humanity itself. The thing to highlight here is that these three are one and non-is higher than the other. When I write or at least when I shape the poem, there is a conscious effort to see all of them as in integral and needed in the poem. I could also say that I want all my poems moving forward to be this way to be written with them in mind.
Poetry is placing trust in a universal cooperative community
The cosmos as is is cooperative. Poetry could be the convergence of the cooperative process if I allow it to be. My personhood, including my body and mind only comes into existence because of this cosmos. It is highly dependent on it for its security and flourishing. Therefore, I need to look at my poetry, holistically, taking care of my body and using the body and nature, the outdoors and all things there as co-conspirators for poetry writing.
Poetry is placing trust in bukluran
My poetry, practice emergency better if they community of people engage in it. I believe in writing with others. I believe in practicing these poetics with others.
Even with my choice of language, I need to be open not too committed in one to be trans lingual. A lot of my problems is actually now solved by jiyu shukyo. jiyū shūkyō is the integration and the solution of the economy between committed writing and writing for art sake. The works that I will start to study will be by writers artists who are very open to a wide range of methods and generous and commitments, well-being, constantly aware of the other society and the larger whole.
