Lesson: Not having a destination but loving what is under my nose.
This book affects how I both see my life as a whole and my art. I want to create art like this: inspirational, one that touches the heart of people, to help them feel kind and aspire to be kind. But how can I create art like this without first feeling this truth in me?
Like the boy, I am in a sort of spiritual wilderness. I am walking and it often feels like I am looking for something. I "want" myself to look for something. And yet the destination feels as vague as ever the more I search for it.
The book's advice is to face this wilderness bravely but with joy. A joy anchored in what truly matters: kindness to oneself, kindness to others, and loving relationships.
