Wesley Verhoeve TBOT photo discussion by Mod

Highlights

In terms of equality, the question is, how much is society allowing you to fall to hell.

Having the right set of external eyes is critical for any creative project.

Having the wrong set of external eyes could be damaging.

How collaboration with Wesley Verhoeve happened

CM went through ten years of photos (10-50,000). He whittled it down to 500 then 300. Until it got to 100 or 200 left. He then had an A roll of 50 and a B roll of a 150.

He exports them from LrC then dumps them into Figma.

He told his WV, here's my A roll and B roll. Please move anything from B roll that has to be reconsidered and move stuff from A than really doesn't belong in there.

Do this process 3 or 4 times.

Then he reviews his decisions then creates a sequence.

Hops on a call with WV and have WV put red dots on photos that he thinks are good.

Figma is a good way to get out of the linearity of LrC.

Because I have an audience (my collaborator), it allows me to make clearer choices with photos and make better judgements.

Then even talked about cropping and what the center of the photo should be.

He used AI to remove certain objects.

Once CM crossed a sustainability line (a number of members paying), he has stopped paying attention to stats and focused on one thing: what's my next book and how close am I to getting that done?

Define and abide by the expectations you created.
