It is uncomfortable to write against writing conventions

To break the rules of good writing will mean that a writer trying to get published or heard will have less chance of doing so because editors will filter out “bad writing”—i.e., writing that does not adhere to predominant rules. It’s not entirely their fault. They have to respond to what readers want. Since it is uncomfortable to read works that break writing conventions, editors will naturally be hesitant to publish books like these.

For someone writing in, say Pangasinan, or a language where there are very few readers, to write against writing conventions can be a career suicide. Nevertheless, there are good reasons why writing against conventions can be positive.
