My lifeview
There is no destiny. Purpose does not arise from the objective physical world and there is no single purpose everyone must follow. We were thrown in this world and life is inherently meaningless. However, meaningful living is possible despite meaninglessness.
The arrival of meaning in our lives from where our individual purpose arises is a co-creation between me as an autonomous Self and the Power Beyond the Self (Other Power), which is also "the great life of free and selfless creative evolution." In this co-creation, the Other Power does what it does and, at every moment, presents me with a situation that invites a response. I respond through action guided by reason, aimed at aligning myself to it. This aligned actions accumulate as the Self continues to respond to the Other Power and creates meaning, which eventually leads me to a sense of purpose, one that is always provisional and ever-evolving.
The convergences of the Other Power and the Self through actions build a body of work comprised by both livelihood and vocation. This sustains my material and spiritual needs. Through intention and quality of action, I could use work to make good use of my talents and gifts for the benefit of those who need them the most.
Others, like me, are in the process of co-creating and aligning themselves with the Other Power. My life becomes more meaningful and happier as I connect with them, nurture relationships, and be in community with them. My well-being and flourishing is dependent on the well-being and flourishing of others.
I recognize and affirm that a loving, compassionate, and cooperative cosmic community is the bedrock of true freedom. I could never be absolutely free, but I could get closer to my true Self by being closer to others, community, and the rest of the universe. I recognize that we are all part of the larger process, so I strive to act and respond to life in a way that considers the well-being of others.
I intend to live my life in a way that is aligned with this great life of free and selfless creative evolution.
