Writing against conventions can be positive

While there are good reasons not to write against conventions (i.e., it is uncomfortable to write against writing conventions and it is uncomfortable to read works that break writing conventions), there are also good reasons to do it anyway.

First, writing against conventions can be a form of separator that makes a writer standout, especially in a space where people just copy each other.

Second, and perhaps more importantly, if writing against conventions means that I can become true to my writing voice, then doing so will be the source of immense comfort (see my search for my authentic writing voice is an extension of my pursuit for freedom.
