Sounds of Water

When I was a child, I realized that the texture of the surface of water in a pail was different and interesting. Different from how it feels like when it's poured on my body. I touched it with my palm spread. When I did so, it made a flapping sound.

There is, of course, water flowing from the faucet. Water hitting dishes. Water overflowing from a pail or a batsya after someone forgot to turn a faucet off.

Water hitting our windows during a storm. Water hitting my body when rain catches me on a bike ride back home. Water underwater bubbles the sound of bubbles. The sound of our hands and feet flapping underwater.

The sound of waves hitting the beach while we slept at the house at Patar. The sound of waves hitting my feet, the shore, the rocks. The sound of boiling water. The sound of water on our roof. The sound of water dripping from a hole on the roof into a pail. The sound of the pool when I was baptized.
